To help the increase in adoption of Cloud Computing technologies in the UK Public Sector the UK Government has selected Zumzum as one of the first providers of G-Cloud services for Google Apps to be featured in the planned government “cloud services application store”.
Stockport, March 1, 2011 -- With the UK government committed to purchasing cloud computing services on a pay-as-you-go model, Zumzum is one of the first Cloud Computing service providers to be awarded a Framework Agreement for G-Cloud Services. The expected launch of the governments “cloud services application store” will enable public sector organisations to browse and select commodity services, such as the implementation, migration and training for Google Apps, provided by Zumzum.
"Our approach of offering fixed price, fixed scope services is perfectly suited to the pay-as-you-go model behind the G-Cloud it services concepts.” said Bashrat Din, Managing Director of Zumzum Limited. "We are all about making it easy and risk free for organisations to adopt Google Apps and this program is an excellent initiative for the public sector to join the millions of companies that already trust their email and collaboration services to Google”.
“We have become the number 1 reviewed UK service provider in the Google Apps Marketplace and we will strive to achieve the same milestone in the government’s cloud services application store” continued Bashrat. “when I buy anything from Amazon or eBay, I always read the reviews from previous customers to learn about the service I can expect from a vendor, so it’s absolutely brilliant that businesses can now do the same, when evaluating services from IT vendors”
In the same way that a consumers are shopping the Apple app store, public sector departments will be able to find, read reviews and engage with service providers to assist in the deployment of cloud based applications. Just like the best app stores, users will be able to post comments and reviews on service providers to help other buyers evaluate the offers. |

It is always a pleasure to be invited to participate in a beta program and particularly satisfying when you're amongst the first in the world to qualify for a certification. Even more rewarding is being recognised as a subject matter expert by being invited to be part of the handful of professionals, that contributed to the thought process that set the passing score for the certification exam.
So, I am particularly excited to announce passing this certification and being part of an elite group of professionals who are the first in the world to attain the certification. I would like to thank the Google Enterprise team for allowing me to participate in the process of selecting the exam questions and contribute to setting the passing score for this exam.
Google strives to develop and improve it's channel to support the adoption of Google Apps for Business so launching a new Google Apps Certified Sales Specialist program is a natural evolution of the Google Apps Authorised Reseller Program. The Google apps Certified Sales Specialist exam certifies sales professionals who demonstrate the skill and knowledge required to sell Google Apps for Business.
We strive to maintain our expertise and focus in Google Apps to effectively serve our customers who wish to adopt Google Apps. This additional certification solidifies our postion as subject matter experts for selling and deploying Google Apps for Business. It's always been my belief that any sales professional worth his salt values product knowledge and applying that product knowledge to serve customers.
We are looking forward to extending our leadership position as one of the premier Google Apps Authorised Resellers in the UK.

Congratulations to Peter Wightman who recently passed the Google Apps Certified Deployment Specialist exam. This helps Zumzum expand our team of certified deployment specialists and continue to execute on our plans to be the leading Google Apps Reseller in the UK.
Pete is Google Apps Certified Deployment specialist number 361, so this group of specialist remains a very limited and elite list of certified specialists. Yes, that's correct, there are no more than around 361'ish Google Apps Certified Deployment Specialists in the world. Pete should be very proud to be in this elite group of technical experts.
We expect our customers to benefit from this expanded team of specialist to help in deploying and managing Google Apps.
Once again, well done Pete!

Google Docs has been growing in stature with is, particularly as it is releasing features on a regular basis. One quite important feature request has been the ability to complete a mail merge with Google Docs. In the past, this has been the realm of power users and Microsoft Office, however, not any longer.
By combining the power of Google Apps Script and Google Docs your able to easily merge variable data into your Google Document to personalise your letters or content. What's more, by using some extra features of Google Docs and Gmail, your able to email out that content to list of recipients.
Pete in our office decided he wanted to demonstrate a very simple mail merge capability to illustrate what can be achieved with Google Apps Script. We are sure you will agree that this short video demonstrates how powerful Google Docs can be, if used in the right way.
Let us know if you have any other features or capabilities you would like to see in Google Apps and we will try and put together other example videos that you may find useful.
enjoy!
